Born in a God fearing Christian home, only son of his parents, born again at the age of 14…….started Samuel Tressler’s journey on the Christian road to freedom…….

The journey stared well but soon thorns and briers of temptations and worldly desires took over and his attention started wavering… Tragedy struck at the tender age of 18….he was served a juice laced with life threatening drugs, robbed, beaten and left to die during the cold and biting winter months in the north of India- New Delhi…..with no winter clothing. Amazing how the Lord’s eyes were hovering to and fro looking for him. Miraculously, he regained consciousness after 24 hours and found his way home by train to Jhansi, India with a help of a train guard.

Samuel lost all consciousness after he reached his home. Samuel had lost his mind completely. The Doctors at Jhansi Medical College were astonished to see his condition. They confirmed that he would not recover, as his brain cells were dead. His chances of survival were minimum, and even if he did survive he would be like the living dead- a mere vegetable, but God had other plans…………

His parents took months off work…they cried and sought the face of the Lord to restore and make their son- Samuel whole. It was slow healing process, which took several months. During this time he was totally dependent on his family and friends to help him do the simple mundane things like brushing his teeth, eating his food. His blood was poisoned to the extent that a mosquito would bite him and die instantly.

He simultaneously developed severe depression. All his ambitious dreams and hopes for the future seemed to vanish into thin air right before his eyes. Being completely hopeless and disillusioned he sought to kill himself. It is amazing how the Lord - Jesus knows and cares and always meets us at the point of our needs. 

One day at 3:00 am in the morning at the height of his depression, Samuel opened his Bible and started reading the word and weeping. The Lord Jesus Christ appeared to him in a vision and said to him, “Son why do you look to men, look to me and I will make you walk over the waters”. 

This encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ changed the course of Samuel’s life forever. Thoughts of suicide were erased. The Healing began and Samuel started to recover very quickly. God restored his health and his memory. Following his recovery he went back to College and completed his studies. Today, by the grace of God, he has 2 Masters degrees, one in Commerce and the other in Business Administration. He still seeks to pursue a PhD.

Looking ahead….

Samuel is no longer disturbed and disillusioned. He knows his purpose in life and HIS calling. His vision is to church the un-churched, reach the un-reached and raise leaders to serve the body of Christ. Today, Amazing Grace Ministries is reaching and planting churches in many parts of the world. Samuel has a beautiful wife who believes in being his helpmate in all things and 2 lovely princes. Together they have pledged to serve and extend the kingdom of God!

To God alone belongs the Glory!
